I really didn’t want to get up this morning when my alarm went off. It was so bad that I didn’t even realize how much I didn’t want to get up until after I went through a 5 minute process of realizing that, my alarm was in fact going off for real, meaning I wasn’t having a weird reoccurring nightmare, which led me to the horrible realization that I was about to piss all over myself. Work was gay as usual (Pun intended with the least possible offense intended… Hey that’s just how I talk, and/or think so quit judging me), and the 60 minutes trip home on the metro was even worse, but after I disrobed my day suddenly took a turn for the much better. I don’t think that the undressing had anything to do with it, and at this point I don’t really want to explain my reasons for sharing that seemingly unimportant undertaking, so lets just chalk that one up to some good old harmless humour. Anyway I made some serious progress with my del.icio.us links. I didn’t really understand the importance of consistent and meaningful tags until Id been actively using the service for about a week, so I had some tedious nonsense that I needed to tend to. I’m still in the process of updating the comments, but I feel pretty good about what I’ve accomplished. If you wanna check it out, CLICK ME ONE TIME ONLY!!! I just had to make light of this ridiculous shit that I always see int he computer lab at work. These computer illiterate nincompoops clicking hypertext links 15 times because “I think the Internet is down!” Perhaps if there wasn’t 35 people sharing one dedicated line, we could all enjoy immediate satisfaction with all link clicking, but as it stands, WE ARE STILL IN THE FRICKEN STONE AGE IN AMERICA, and suffer we must, until something better sustains for awhile. I don’t know exactly what it means in relation to my earlier comments, but at least we’re staying on topic. The message is closely aligned with my point of view which is of course all but worthless given my semi-incomplete understanding of these things, but anyway I hope it gives you something to think about. What a Fricken Day…

The thing that most defined my day today was my 50 mile bike ride home that was supposed to be 35 miles. I thought Id stay of the bike trails that I normally use, and go street only because I was nervous about my rear tube. I had patched it before my ride because I was out of tubes. Anyway that was awesome. This morning for breakfast I made a Salmon Frittata and it kicked ass, except I cut the tomatoes too thick and I ended up taking a few off. And for dinner I made Mole Chicken, which doesn’t rate as high on my Kick Ass scale but it was still pretty good. I got both recipes from the Whole Foods website. I used the Google Calendar today, and that worked out really well. I listed everything important that I wanted to do today, and I figured if I got it all done my reward would be to do whatever the hell I wanted. That’s the only part that got screwed up. It turned out that I used all the free time I would have had aimlessly riding my bike around lost. At least I got a good workout. Also, I started searching for some blogs today just for the sake of commenting on some people posts. I intended to focused on blogs that I noticed didn’t have many comments, and in the process I found a few really cool posts. I gotta share this one with you… Do you even exist? Well I suppose time will tell. So here’s one of the posts I particularly like: Asset Allocation in 30 Minutes a Year by simplelight. Anyway Have a good one.

What a Day

Well I had today off too. I pretty much spent the whole day in front of the computer. I didnt eat anything phenomenal. I didnt excersize, I didnt even read anything enriching. I pretty much did no more than exist. Some good did come out of this. I felt like a total piece of shit for having wasted a whole day that I decided to set up a schedule for myself for tommorow on google calendar. I feel pretty good about that. Also I opened an investment account today with Fidelity, but I havent funded it yet. So I as Im sure you can imagine my lack of brain activity all day long has made it very hard for me to think of anything interesting to post. If you are still reading this… Shame on You. You have better things to do. Go read the news or something. Or maybe check out my one link… Have a nice evening.

Homemade Mayonnaise

After dinner tonight I made an artichoke, and some homemade mayo as a dip. These were both firsts for me, and it turned out wonderful, and the mayonnaise especially stood out. I will never buy mayo again if I can help it. As far as I can tell the only downside is the short shelf life (2 weeks). Anyway if youre interested click the links for the recipes I used. Enjoy!

Just Another Semi-Wasted Day

Good afternoon, to who I’m not sure yet. I hope to resolve this conundrum sometime… Anyway I have today off from work, so Ive been inside all day. I spent some time reading Beyond Terror: Strategy in a Changing World by Ralph Peters. A friend at work loaned it to me after a discussion we had about Globalization. I’m only a few chapters in, and so far I am very intrigued by many of Peters’ assertions. As obvious as a lot of his ideas seem many are new to me, and I am finding it refreshing to challenge my intellect a bit. My wife came home for lunch, and we ate some pistachio crusted salmon that I got at Whole Foods. I wouldn’t get it again, but it was very good. With the rest of my day so far I have been on the computer. Nothing extremely interesting to report on that topic. OK well Ive had just about enough of this. Perhaps I will go run a few miles in a bit. Until further notice, this post is directed to the unlucky albeit unknown traveler that happens across my blog.

First Post of First Blog

I have found my feelings of this post to be very interesting and uncomfortable in a way that is difficult for me to quantify. I named this the “First Post of First Blog,” because I imagine that this will be more of a learning process, and less of a means of expression, and/or connection, and I expect that through this initial experience/process of “learning” I will either create a new blog, or maybe just re-characterize this blog. I have so many pertinent questions. Such as do I want to remain anonymous, what is my genre, or do i even need one. Am I more focused on connecting with a particular community, or with just expressing myself in this unique and new (to me) forum. I have many more unresolved thoughts, and I hope that through this blog I will figure at least a few of them out. For now, I am focused on expressing myself through my blog posts, and I hope for the experience of connecting with other bloggers if that’s what you call them.
